NuGen’s newly-appointed executive directors, Robert Zadora and Manuel Marco, visited West Cumbria for a series of meetings with stakeholders.
As part of the two-day visit NuGen organised a Business Lunch at Whitehaven’s quayside Waterfront Restaurant. The company’s executive directors hosted business leaders including representatives from Britain’s Energy Coast, the local Chamber of Commerce, the Business Cluster, National Nuclear Laboratories , Sellafield and NDA.
The directors also toured the proposed Moorside site, 200 hectares of land to the North and West of the main Sellafield complex.
The directors, along with NuGen’s head of communications, John McNamara, and West Cumbrian stakeholder advisor Rosie Mathisen also met council leaders and union bosses at a separate event hosted at Moresby Hall.
The NuGen team held a roundtable discussion with top officials and elected representatives of Copeland and Allerdale councils. Also present were representatives of Cumbria County Council, the West Cumbria Site Stakeholder Group, and elected officials from Unite and Prospect unions.
The NuGen team rounded off the visit with a tour around the Sellafield complex, where they met deputy site director George Beveridge, and Sellafield’s head of stakeholder engagement, Rory O’Neill.
The visit was one of a regular series of stakeholder meetings designed to keep key people up-to-date on developments at NuGen.
