NuGen has announced that it will add a 22nd consultation event to its programme of public exhibitions about the proposed Moorside Power Station.
The final consultation event will be held on-site at Sellafield to engage directly with workers during the course of their working day. The event will be held on July 16th, in the main Sellafield canteen. The extra date is specifically aimed to help Sellafield staff and contractors have their say about the Moorside Project, which aims to build a new nuclear power station to the north and west of the main site.
NuGen’s Head of Corporate Communications, John McNamara, said: “It is extremely important that we hear the views of as many people as possible during our public consultation. Given the planned location of the Moorside Power Station, holding an event like this presents an ideal opportunity to engage with the Sellafield workforce and we are grateful to our colleagues on-site for the opportunity.”
Rory O’Neill, Director of Stakeholder Relations at Sellafield, said: “I think it’s really important that we make it as easy as possible for our workforce to offer their views on the proposals for Moorside, and that’s why we are delighted to be inviting NuGen to the site.
“Many of our employees are second and third generation nuclear workers, they understand the way plants and facilities work and they will have a contribution to make which I’m sure our colleagues at NuGen will find invaluable.”
Dates for the remaining public exhibitions, along with the documents and materials for the consultation, are available on the consultation website: www.nugenconsultation.com. People can also use this website to register their interests and to ‘Have Your Say’.
