NuGen supports bid for an Energy Coast Line, fit for the future

NuGen welcomes the Cumbrian Rail Programme Board bid, to develop a robust, sustainable railway for the Energy Coast, which could unlock £60bn of proposed investment in Cumbria.

Led by Cumbria Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the Cumbrian Rail Programme Board, of which NuGen is a member, has this week submitted a business case to the Department for Transport requesting funding to develop proposals to upgrade the railway.

NuGen supports the LEP’s approach to Government for funding to bring the core infrastructure up to standard, whilst accessing developer investment to fund the infrastructure required to enable rail to access developers’ sites.

NuGen is proud to support the Cumbrian Rail Programme Board in this important bid, and at this exciting time for west Cumbria.
