GreenSTEM was established to build on the success of NuGen’s environmental education partnership with local primary schools. The programme is delivered in partnership with Cumbria Wildlife Trust to students in Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2 and Key Stage 5. The programme teaches students, inside and outside of the classroom about the environment where they live, the flora and fauna and the importance of habitats on land and in the marine environment. The annual programme covers the following:
- Key Stage 1: Bird Boxes, General Wildlife and Nocturnal Wildlife;
- Key Stage 2: Habitats, Survival, Extinction (Natterjacks) and Marine Wildlife; and
- Key Stage 5: Field and Residential Outdoor Education Trips.
